Therapeutic Massage may consist of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and other massage elements that are designed to fit each client’s specific needs. When utilizing Swedish Massage elements, the body leaves relaxed and rested. It increases flow of the circulatory and lymphatic systems, releases metabolic waste from the muscles, and helps relieve the body of unwanted discomfort and stress. When utilizing Deep Tissue Massage, the focus is on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue and is especially helpful for tense and contracted areas such as sore shoulders, lower back tightness, and stiff necks. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure to help alleviate tension and stress in the body.

Sports Massage is designed to assure the health and well being of the athlete and to enhance athletic performance. Compared to classic Swedish massage, Sports Massage addresses more specific muscles related to a particular activity; and addresses and assists in treating and preventing injuries. Treatment typically consists of deeper pressure, stretching and ROM (range of movement) activity.

Hot Stone Massage uses heated basalt stones to provide deeper work with less pressure while relaxing and re-energizing the body. Each session is always customized to your needs and comfort level. The pressure can be as deep or light as feels good to you. The temperature of the stones can range from very warm (soothing and relaxing) to cool (refreshing and revitalizing) or a combination of the two depending on your needs.

Neuromuscular / Medical Massage uses effective methods of pain management for chronic muscle discomfort. Our practitioners, while focusing on balancing the person’s body over gravity, apply various techniques that result in the release of constricted muscles and the elimination of metabolic waste. Special attention may also be given through the application of heat and analgesic ointment for optimal results.

Couples Massage – Enjoy spending time with someone special. Our couples massage consists of two therapists treating two clients in the same room. Pair any combination of Swedish, deep tissue, pregnancy or hot stone massage to enhance your massage experience.

Couples Massage Instruction – Life is hectic. Why wait until you can come in for your appointment at Day Break? Let us teach you and your partner the basics of how to provide a relaxing massage. This instructional session is two (2) hours in length and allows for each of the participants to practice on the other under the guidance of a professional NC Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist. Participants will also take home with them their choice of massage lotion or oil, a 100% organic scented soy candle, and two 100% organic salt bath applications.

Pregnancy Massage supports and nurtures the mother-to-be. Focusing on the requirements of the Mother-To-Be, pregnancy massage is a very gentle form of massage. The therapist blends techniques to provide relaxation and relief from low back stress and other pregnancy related discomfort. The therapist always works with an awareness of the special needs of the mother-to-be.
